This history constitutes a rich source of practical experience, of lessons learned. Howewer, these lessons haver never been drawn together and subjected to sustained scrunity, which means that inadequate progress has been made in fulfilling the potential inherent in these interventions. To remedy this failing, the first step must clearly be to collect the stories of nonviolent cross-border interventions in one place for scrutiny. This is precisely what has been done here.
